The Air We Breathe
Nature's way of purifying the air is through the generation of positive and negative ions. Air ions occur naturally when an energy source is presented in the atmosphere. This happens as a result of water-falls, lightening storms, ocean surf, and sunlight.
These charged oxygen molecules O2+and O2- are highly active, and when reacting with airborne water molecules, H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) is formed. A chemical reaction occurs, and oxidants break down the protein structure of pollutants, rendering them harmless.
The Hygieia device generates these same positive and negative ions - just like those found in nature that purify and freshen indoor air by eliminating the harmful pollutants mentioned above.
01
Airborne particles are charged by the ions causing them to cluster together and get caught in filters.
02
Bacteria and viruses bond with oxygen ions making them inactive.
03
Harmful odorous gases and airborne aerosols oxidise with oxygen ions, neutralising them.
04
Oxidants break down the protein structure of pollutants, reacting with VOCs breaking down their molecular structure, making them harmless.
